Roxy & Sam

It seems only fitting that when South Africa’s original bombshell surfer babe and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Roxy Louw decided to walk down the aisle towards the love of her life, that she would choose a secluded and serene ocean backdrop for her ceremony.

On the 4th of February 2020, the Barclay Studios team traveled to the Western Cape where they drove 300 kms from Cape Town to a romantic beach location for a celebration of love like no other, between Roxy Louw and Sam Barton.

Roxy, daughter of Springbok legend, Rob Louw, started her sporting career in provincial hockey before moving on to surfing and becoming a team rider for Oakley. From pro surfing, Roxy was discovered as a model while doing a surf shoot in Brazil. Roxy’s transformation in the health and fitness industry from athlete to model continued with her latest evolution becoming a fully qualified yoga instructor.

Sam was born in New Zealand and is also a former sevens Kiwi rugby player. The couple met in Cape Town, and with their shared passion for sports, work and a healthy lifestyle, it was inevitable that they would be inseparable ever since.

The smell of the sea air, the gentle ocean breeze and the sound of the waves crashing along the shore was the perfect setting for this free-spirited fairytale.

As the guests waited in anticipation for the first site of the bride, they shielded themselves from the summer sun with white parasols. The parasols added a touch of simple elegance in keeping with the sandy setting. The bridal party wore hues of yellow, adding to the warmth of this whimsical day.

Roxy wore an exquisite lace dress by Lauren R Couture. As she glided through the warm, smooth sand, all eyes were fixated on this breathtakingly beautiful bride. Her flawless make-up was by Andrea.H Makeup Artistry while T’hairápy styled her golden locks.

Niche-Events were responsible for all wedding planning and wedding décor at the venue. Inverroche Gin kept the drinks flowing with their pop-up bar and the guests danced the night way to beats from popular South African electronic DJ, Chris De Vos.

We were honoured to be a part of this beautiful union of love between two soul mates. We wish Roxy and Sam all the best as their new chapter begins – no doubt full of adventure, fun and exciting things to come.
