Meg & Ty
Megan and Ty’s wedding was a binding combination of love and altruism as they used their special day not only to make a commitment to one another but also to raise funds for a charity.
Eight years ago, Megan and Ty met in Stellenbosch and soon had their first date on a wine farm and fell in love.
For their seventh anniversary, they were meant to go to Italy. However, the trip had to be cancelled because of Covid-19.
Instead, Ty arranged a trip to Franshoek, Stellenbosch and Cape Town, where the couple took a trip down memory lane, visiting their favourite places, which reminded them of when they first started falling in love.
It was at a beautiful hotel called la residence in Franshoek where Ty proposed.
While the proposal happened in Franshoek, the couple chose to get married in Stellenbosch as that was where their journey together started and blossomed.
“It’s our special and happy place, so there was no doubt we would get married there,” Megan said.
Megan and Ty got married at Molenvliet, surrounded by the venue’s natural surroundings and timeless aesthetic.
Their wedding was modern, elegant, and classic, personified by the white flowers with greenery and the décor in black and gold.
Being big foodies, the culinary experience was also unmatched as guests were treated to live cooking stations with all their favourite foods being freshly prepared and cooked on the spot.
While their elegant and magic wedding was littered with unforgettable moments, including exchanging vows, the money they raised for a charity they started was a standout and a testament to their bond.
“We started a Foundation named after our dogs called; The Sushi and Panda Foundation, and our main goal is to Save South Africas Township animals,” Megan said.
“Instead of gifts, we asked our guests to donate to the foundation, and we were blown away as the total amount donated was R50100.00. You can check us out and the work we do on social media. Facebook: The sushi and panda foundation. Instagram: sushi_and_panda_the_frenchies”
Barclay Studios was honoured to have been a part of Megan and Ty’s wedding day.
With the alluring surroundings and couple’s unbridled love for each other, witnessed through their glee and endearment for one another, it was a wedding easily captured in all its glory.
